NBWF Remains Opposed to Herbicide Use on Crown Lands

NBWF Posted on December 6, 2017 by NBWFDecember 6, 2017

The New Brunswick Wildlife Federation remains opposed to the routine use of herbicides on New Brunswick’s Crown Lands.

As early as 1986 and ’87, the New Brunswick Wildlife Federation had concerns over the spraying of New Brunswick’s forests with herbicides and was calling for an evaluation of their effect on New Brunswick’s wildlife and environment.

In 1989, 1993 and 2003 our organization sent resolutions to the then New Brunswick Minister of Natural Resources and again in 2016 to the New Brunswick Minister of Energy Resource Development; expressing our members belief that the routine use of herbicides on our Crown Lands was harmful to their natural ecosystems and should be halted.
