Master Angler Application Form
Its purpose is conservation and to reward exceptional angling skills, provide year-to-year outstanding fish records and comprise an official New Brunswick Wildlife Federation Master Angler fish list. Its aim is to promote family fishing and give special attention to the serious anglers of New Brunswick. Those entries which qualify as the record for the year will be sent an 8" X 10" certificate suitable for framing, a silk-screened crest for their fishing vest and an official NBWF. Master Angler Award Cap. There will also be a special pin for those anglers who have indicated that they practice NBWF's Catch and Release Program by releasing their catch alive and with care.
Master Angler Rules
- Fish must be taken legally by hook and line from New Brunsick inland or coastal waters
- Fish angled in private or commercial fish ponds are not eligible
- Only one person may catch and play the fish
- We accept a measurement to the nearest inch/centimetre
- If possible, send a full color photograph of the fish and angler and the signature of a fishing buddy to verify the measurements of the fish. For the record fish in any species you must submit a side view photo of the fish with a measuring device or some object of standard size that can be used to verify the measurements of the fish such as the angling licence
- Entrants will, by entering the Master Angler Awards Program, give consent to the use of their name and the photo submitted by NBWF and Master Angler
- Photographs become the property of NBWF and will not be returned
- The NBWF will be the sole and final judge as to the acceptance of entries and reserves the right to request additional information and change requirements as deemed necessary in the interest of the NBWF Master Angler Awards Program
- Youth entrants up to 16 years of age will receive from Master Angler a certificate and NBWF pin
- Every person who enters a released fish will receive a special catch and release pin
- There will be a special category for fishing derbies, the winner of each derby must have their name submitted by the derby organization verifying that they have won. The Master Angler will send the winner a certificate and a pin. To qualify for NB record fish all foregoing rules apply
- Application must be received by November 30 of applicable year
